First introduced five years ago to celebrate a decade of independent watchmaking, the Classic Origin embodies Laurent Ferrier’s pursuit of purity, balance and understated elegance. This new edition maintains the familiar 40 mm Classic case, whose smooth, rounded profile recalls a river-worn pebble, while introducing 5N red gold to the collection for the first time. The warm tone of the case pairs harmoniously with a new beige dial, creating a refined aesthetic that bridges heritage and modernity with ease.

The opaline dial features soft, warm undertones, complemented by a brown railway minute track, crosshair detail and red numeral accents to ensure optimal legibility. At the centre, the Maison’s signature 18k gold Assegai hands sweep across the display with serene precision. Even the crown carries significance: generously rounded and inviting to the touch, it is designed to make the winding experience both tactile and pleasurable, reflecting Laurent Ferrier’s philosophy that every interaction with the watch should feel meaningful.

Through the sapphire caseback, the manually wound LF116.01 calibre is revealed, finished to the exacting standards for which Laurent Ferrier is known. The movement features a screw balance paired with a Breguet overcoil hairspring to enhance accuracy and stability, while the brand’s distinctive long-blade ratchet pawl delivers a crisp and satisfying click when winding. Once fully wound, the watch offers a power reserve of over 80 hours. Though visually more restrained than some of the Maison’s more intricate calibres, the LF116.01 remains uncompromising in its finishing, showcasing sandblasted black-rhodium-treated bridges, polished bevels, mirror-finished screws and a meticulously crafted interior angle on the escapement bridge.

Completing the timepiece is a mocha nubuck strap lined with Alcantara and secured by a 5N red gold pin buckle that echoes the warmth of the case.
