Vianney Halter Antiqua Platinum With Diamonds

Steam-punk gorgeousness, reinvented by the master himself!
When Vianney Halter launched the Antiqua in 1998, it looked nothing like anything that was done before. Part of his “Futur Anterieur” collection, it featured a steam-punk styled case, with four portholes heavily riveted to the case, displaying the time and the leap year functions independently, with a matching riveted crown.

The design aesthetic has since become a signature Vianney Halter style, and the master himself is now among the greatest watchmakers of the 21st century.

Two decades later, Vianney revisited this iconic timepiece to upgrade it using the advanced machinery that wasn’t available when the first Antiqua was made.

Although complex, the movement is relatively thin, hence it used to slightly bend effecting the accuracy of the timepiece.

To solve this issue, the movement is now attached to the case and the bezel is fixed from the inside, adding to the robustness of the timepiece. Other upgrades include the replacement of the date disk and the jumping wheel, and the click and spring which is now recessed into the mainplate.

Technically, this is an advanced version of the original Antiqua, but retaining the same iconic aesthetic.
